Wireless pen transmits characters written in the air on a screen

Tokyo-based SMK Corp. presents a new kind of wireless input pen that is able to display characters written in the air on monitors.

A built-in triaxial sensor detects the positional information and is able to recognize characters inputted with the pen. Via Bluetooth, the pen transmits the data to a screen that can be up to 10 meters away from the user.

SMk claims their invention is a world’s first and currently files for a patent. The company hopes their pen can one day replace laser pointers, i. e. during sales presentations.
