O2 cuts 8GB iPhone price by £100 in UK

Happier times

People in something called the UK can now cop an 8GB iPhone for 169 quid, or about $330. That’s £100 off the regular price; the lower price is valid through June 1, International Children’s Day.

Why O2, which used to sponsor Arsenal FC, do such a thing? Why, quoth the carrier, to create

additional momentum for what has been O2’s fastest-selling device.

Note that the 16GB iPhone doesn’t get any fancy price cut. It’s a damn shame, really.
