A MacRumors forums user asked for help with activating his brand new iPhone. It turns out the poor bastard bought a Chinese knock-off so well-made that it would fool anyone who hasn’t actually seen the phone. The UI is almost exactly the same except for a Chinese game icon and it uses USB rather than Apple’s proprietary port.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: If Chinese manufacturers put as much effort into making their own devices rather than copying current IP they’d be a force to be reckoned with. What is it about these guys that compels them to piggyback so much?
