If a cup of coffee costs $4 at a Starbucks, how much do you suppose they’re going to charge for MP3s? We’ll find out in the next 12 to 18 months if, as Howard Schultz has hinted, the pricey coffee chain does indeed start testing in-store MP3 downloads.
“Within 12 months, probably, you’re going to be able to walk into a Starbucks and digitally be able to fill up your MP3 player with music,” Schultz said in New York on Tuesday, because filling them up analog style would make about as much sense as buying music at a coffee shop. Zing!
